I paint large pictures because I want the viewer to experience a more intimate relationship with the colour and images. I want them to wander across the flat surface of the canvas and imagine. I s’pose we are forced to read pictures as a landscape with birds – but equally as a flat plane upon which colour of different chromatic and tonal values have been arranged.
I place realistic images in an abstract and imaginary landscape with stones to remember…….
